an injury designation and placed receiver Rod Streater on injured reserve. To fill their roster spots Youth Baker Mayfield Jersey , the team promoted receiver Da’Mari Scott and linebacker Xavier Woodson-Luster from its practice squad. To fill those two practice squad spots, the team signed former quarterback turned receiver Blake Jackson and offensive lineman Jake Eldrenkamp. After missing Week 1, Burgess played in two games before spraining his knee in the team’s Week 3 win over the Jets. He missed the next two games but returned in Week 6. Burgess didn’t survive Week 6, though, suffering a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter. The team, already needy at linebacker with Joe Schobert slated to miss some time, decided to move on from its lesser-known reserve backer.Burgess stood out during training camp and preseason, as he had last year while playing a significant role for the depleted Browns linebacker corps. He finishes the 2018 season with seven total tackles, including one for a loss, in two starts and three appearances for the Browns. If Burgess is not picked up by a team on waivers, he will revert to the Browns injured reserve list assuming they don’t reach an injury settlement. He could be designated to return White Genard Avery Jersey , but would have to miss a minimum of eight games before returning to game action.Woodson-Luster was signed to the team’s practice squad on Saturday. He spent the preseason with Buffalo before being released during final roster cuts.Da’Mari Scott spent the entire offseason and preseason with the Browns before falling victim to final roster cuts himself. He will probably be active on gameday as the Browns’ fourth or fifth receiver, but he may actually see snaps in Week 7. Scott developed a good rapport with Baker Mayfield while playing on the team’s second unit during preseason and camp. He knows the playbook, too, so he’ll likely have an advantage over newly-acquired wideout Breshad Perriman.Jackson is a former quarterback who was cut by the Browns during final roster cuts.Eldrenkamp is officially in his first season out of Washington after going undrafted in 2017 and spending time on the Los Angeles Rams practice squad. He’s listed as a center but can possibly provide depth at the guard position, should the Browns need it down the road. Eldrenkamp was released by the Rams on Friday before final roster cuts and has worked out for the Lions recently.Streater’s fractured neck means he’s probably not going to be eligible to return this season. Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson was understandably frustrated on Sunday. The Browns had just finished off their second overtime loss of the year and the 19th consecutive road loss with Jackson at the helm. The offense had once again started slowly, scoring just two points in the first half against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that entered the game giving up a league-worst 34.6 points per game. That led Jackson to talk in his post-game press conference about taking over responsibility for the offense from offensive coordinator Todd Haley. Which in turn led many to believe that Jackson was planning to resume calling the plays, just like he did in 2016 and 2017 when he did not want to “burden” someone with that responsibility. But that is not the case, according to Jackson, who clarified his comments on Monday while meeting with the media, according to Herbie Teope at NFL.com:What that means for a Browns offense that is ranked No. 21 overall in yards per game, 23rd in points per game Youth David Njoku Jersey , 23rd in passing yards per game and 5th in rushing yards per game remains to be seen.Of course, Browns fans watched Jackson’s offense the past two seasons and it was not pretty, as NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala helpfully points out:The wheels have quickly come off the Browns bandwagon in recent weeks, as the high of the Thursday night victory over the New York Jets on September 20 has quickly faded away in the wake of three losses in the last four games to leave the Browns at 2-4-1 on the season. The schedule is not doing the team any favors, either, as the next three games start off with a road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, followed by home games against the Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons.Jackson is ready to infuse himself into the offense in an attempt to right the ship. But given everything that Browns fans have seen from the first 39 games of his tenure, he may end up creating more holes than he fixes.
