Derek Jeters ownership group might be on
« on: December 04, 2018, 04:37:24 am »
Derek Jeter's ownership group was one of the few which intended to cut payroll for the Marlins,  Roberto Alomar Practice Royal Blue Jersey according to the Miami Herald. There were at least two others vying for ownership who intended to keep payroll where it was and po sibly increase it in the short run. Miami busine sman Jorge Mas told the Herald he wanted to keep the payroll at $130 million, and another source saidpotential owner Wayne Rothbaum was not planning to slash payroll, either.Whether or not MLB commi sioner Rob Manfred knew Jeter planned to cut payroll remains to be seen, but one thing is for sureisall of this is Marcus Stroman Jersey  Jeffrey Loria and David Samson's fault.Mas' bid of $1 billion for the team was outweighed by Jeter's investment group's bid of $1.2 billion Jays Cool Base Team Gray Jersey . Also, with Rothbaum losing a $200 million investor at the last moment, his bid dropped down to $1 billion as well, which took him out of the running. It was Loria and Samson who insisted on the price as $1.2 billion. Had they taken Mas or Rothbaum's bids, Jeter's investment group would not have won and the payroll may not have been slashed. So while Manfred is getting a lot of flack for Jeter's ownership Joe Carter Jersey  group's current actions, a lot of the onus still falls on Loria. Henot only asked for too much money for the franchise (one Marlins official said the franchise was probably worth some $400 million le s than what was paid for it) which hamstrung the next owners right off the bat, but he also put the franchise in such disarray that they were losing money in droves, which forced the next owners to make conce sions with  Jose Bautista Jersey their payroll.
